About Dr Opoku-Asare
Dr. Isaac Opoku-Asare is a board-certified Interventional cardiologist and endovascular specialist who delivers evidence based, compassionate care to his patients. He diagnoses and treats complex cardiac and vascular conditions as such as peripheral vascular disease, coronary artery diseases, carotid disease, cardiomyopathy, and venous insufficiencies. He is an expert in cardiac and vascular procedures performed through the wrist and currently performs more than 99% of all his cardiac procedures through the wrist.
He is also a great teacher who has won many teaching awards in including Faculty of the Year, Dr. Christopher Degannes Award, Department of Medicine, Howard University College of Medicine, 2018 and Most Outstanding Teacher, Department of Internal Medicine , Howard University Hospital, 2017. He has mentored several medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows some of whom are excellent practicing cardiologists and interventional cardiologists.
Dr. Opoku-Asare strongly believes in making advances in medicine and was awarded Outstanding Dedication to Clinical Research and Journal HUH Internal Medicine Residency, Class of 2017. He is the senior author on several scholarly work presented in leading cardiovascular scientific conferences and journals.
